exionpro-duo-tone-leather-lead-with-chain-white
ExionPro Duo-Tone Leather Lead with Chain - White

A leather lead with a brass chain at the horse end, in ExionPro's Duo-Tone trim with the contrast tone in white. Halter not included.

The published length is 2.3 meters including the snap chain, with the leather itself given as 18 mm wide and 2 meters long. The chain is braided into the leather rather than clipped to a ring at the end of it, and ExionPro describes it as adjustable to a 10, 20 or 30 inch shank with a snap on the end. A longer shank puts more chain between the leather and the snap. The hardware is silver brass, polished and lacquered.

What the two tones are:

ExionPro names the color in the title after the contrast tone, not the body of the lead. White is not one of the Leather Color choices here, so the white is the contrast and the selector, Havana or Black, sets the leather it runs on.

Specifications:

Length: 2.3 meters including the snap chain

Leather: 18 mm wide, 2 meters long

Chain braided into the leather, adjustable to a 10, 20 or 30 inch shank, with a snap on the end

Silver brass hardware, polished and lacquered

Soft calfskin padding

Stitched with heavy duty cotton thread

Leather quality: Vegetable Tanned or Italian English

Leather color selector: Havana (Choco Brown) or Black

One size, listed as Standard

Halter is not included

About the chain:

A chain lead is standard turnout for in-hand classes and is also used for leading a strong horse. A chain applies pressure, and how much it applies depends on how it is fitted. That is the handler's decision and it is worth making deliberately.

What sets this one apart:

Duo-Tone trim with the contrast tone in white, running on Havana or Black leather chosen at the selector. The chain is silver brass, polished and lacquered, and it is braided into the leather rather than clipped to a ring at the end of it, adjustable to a 10, 20 or 30 inch shank. Soft calfskin padding sits against the hand, and the published length is 2.3 meters including the snap chain.

Why it is here:

The chain is braided into the leather rather than clipped to a ring at the end of it. A ring is the joint that takes the whole load when a horse sets back, and braiding the chain into the strap removes the joint instead of reinforcing it.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0681/3538/7249/files/2030_5_1788034a-0a59-4d15-af21-e29fa26ca00b.jpg?v=1789066190
