A short dressage girth curved behind the elbow, in Ovation's Airform material.
The curve is the point. Ovation shapes this girth away from the horse's elbows to prevent the pinching a straight girth causes at the place where the foreleg swings back. Airform is described by Ovation as soft and easy care, cushioned for added comfort and textured for airflow, hypoallergenic, and it wipes off easily. Double elastic ends and stainless steel buckles.
Specifications:
- Material: Airform, cushioned and textured for airflow, hypoallergenic
- Curved silhouette, shaped behind the elbows
- Double elastic ends
- Stainless steel buckles
- Color: Black
- Sizes 18 in through 32 in, in 2 in steps
- Care: machine wash in a bag or hand wash, line dry
Fit:
Short girths run 18 to 32 inches here. A dressage saddle has long billets, so the girth sits high under the flap and the size is far smaller than an all-purpose girth. Measure from the middle billet hole on one side, under the horse, to the same hole on the other, with the saddle on.
What sets this one apart:
A short girth, 18 to 32 inches, cut for the long billets of a dressage saddle. The silhouette curves away from the elbows so it cannot pinch where the foreleg swings back, and the Airform material is cushioned, textured for airflow, hypoallergenic and washable.
Double elastic, not single:
Elastic at both ends rather than one keeps the girth centered as it gives. A single-elastic girth pulls the saddle toward the elastic side every time the horse expands, which is a slow way to end up sitting crooked.
Why it is here:
Curved and washable. The silhouette is shaped away from the elbows, and Airform takes a machine wash in a bag.
