Coolmax® Jumper All-Purpose Saddle Pad - White/White
Coolmax® Jumper All-Purpose Saddle Pad - White/White
The plain white jumper pad, and the one that works under anything.
Ovation describes this as a Euro-styled jumper pad, cut to sit under a more forward jumping flap. That shaping is the reason to choose it over the Diamond pad, not the color. Underneath, it is a cotton shell over 8 mm foam with 300g poly fill and a Coolmax lining. Cotton is the side you see and wash. Coolmax is the layer against the horse, an engineered polyester with a channelled fibre cross-section that moves moisture along the fibre and out toward the surface rather than holding it against the back.
Specifications:
- Cut: Euro-styled jumper, shaped for a more forward jumping flap
- Shell: cotton with 8 mm foam
- Lining: Coolmax
- Fill: 300g poly
- Quilting: 1 in square

- Color: White on White
- One size

Fit:
One size, 21 in along the spine with a 21 in drop. That is a full-size horse pad. The pad should clear the back of the saddle without sitting out onto the loin.
Which pad:
Two pads in this collection, and the difference between them is structural rather than cosmetic. The Jumper All-Purpose at $62.95 is a Euro-styled cut shaped for a more forward jumping flap, built on 8 mm foam with 1 in square quilting, 21 in along the spine. The Diamond All-Purpose at $60.95 is a straight all-purpose cut on 15 mm foam with 1 1/2 in diamond quilting, 22 in along the spine. Choose the Jumper if the saddle has a forward flap. Choose the Diamond if it does not, or if the thicker foam is what you want.
Colorways:
The Jumper pad is stocked here in White on White, White with Navy, Navy on Navy and Black on Black. All four are the same pad; only the shell and binding colors change. White on White is the one that asks no questions. It sits under any turnout, and it will pass in a ring on a morning when the show pad is still in the wash.
Why it is here:
A pad actually cut for a forward flap, rather than a square pad sold as all-purpose, is the specification doing the work. Ovation publishes the foam thickness, the fill weight, the quilt size and both dimensions. Most pads at this price publish none of them.
