The waffle weave is the working part. Ovation states the breathable waffle-weaved top lets air circulate continuously and helps keep a horse's back cool. The edge is fleece-lined rather than a bound seam, and the border of a pad is the part that rubs when it is finished hard. Ovation describes the fit as close contact and the use as all-purpose.
