The Airform girth with spring-loaded Click-It buckles instead of standard ones.

Ovation describes this as the award-winning Airform girth improved with Click-It spring-loaded buckles. The buckle is the entire reason to pay the difference. Doing up a girth means pushing a pin through a billet hole under tension, one-handed, from the ground or from the saddle. A spring-loaded buckle does that with a click instead of a wrestle, and any rider with a stiff hand, a bad shoulder, or a horse that will not stand still will notice immediately.

Specifications:

  • Click-It spring-loaded buckles
  • Airform material
  • Color: Brown
  • Sizes 46 in, 50 in, 52 in and 54 in
  • Care: machine wash in a bag or hand wash, line dry

Fit, and a real gap in the size run:

Only four sizes are offered: 46, 50, 52 and 54 inches. There is no 48, and nothing below 46. If your girth size is 44 or 48, the Click-It buckle is not available in it, so measure before ordering.

What sets this one apart:

The buckles are Click-It spring-loaded, so the girth closes with a click rather than a pin forced through a billet hole under tension. It is Airform material in brown, in all-purpose lengths from 46 to 54 inches. It washes in a machine in a bag or by hand, then line dries.

Why it is here:

A spring-loaded buckle is the whole point of this girth. That sounds like a small thing until you have to girth up a cold-backed horse in gloves, and it is the kind of specification that decides whether a rider can tack up alone.
