Two usable faces is the design. Instead of a quick-dry mesh lining against the horse, there is a second layer of perforated vegan suede, so the pad can be used either way up and the color combination changes with it. The core is a high-density 3D mesh and the Anatomeq spine channel is contoured to the back and edged in soft microsuede on both sides of the spine and along the binding.
AnatomEq states this is the less breathable option, and that is worth reading.
The second suede face adds roughly 2 mm of thickness and, in AnatomEq's own words, makes this pad less breathable than a mesh-lined one. That decides the purchase: if maximum airflow is the reason you are looking at a perforated pad, a mesh-lined version will breathe better. This one trades some of that for a second usable face.
