A hoof product that adds moisture rather than sealing it out, for worn-down or hard hooves.

Glycerin and witch hazel extract provide moisture while protecting against dampness at the same time, which is why Effol positions this for horses in frequent contact with water as well as for dry, hard feet. Effol states that hoof resilience improves on a sustainable basis and that one 500 ml tub is enough to see the change. It was developed with Dieter Kröhnert, farrier to the German Olympic equestrian team.

Specifications:

  • 17 fl oz, 500 ml tub
  • Contains glycerin, lanolin and witch hazel extract
  • Adds moisture while protecting against dampness
  • Suitable for horses in frequent contact with water
  • Developed with the German Olympic team farrier

Application:

Apply from the coronet upwards. Use several times daily as required.

What sets this one apart:

This one adds moisture to the hoof rather than sealing moisture out. Glycerin, lanolin and witch hazel extract carry it, and the direction of application is coronet upwards, which is how a product meant to work into the hoof is applied rather than one meant to coat it.

Why it is here:

The direction of application is the tell. Coronet upwards rather than downwards means this product is meant to work into the hoof rather than to coat it.
