The key-ball lanyard that connects an equestrian airbag to the saddle strap. One is included with every airbag vest; this is the spare or replacement.
The lanyard runs from the trigger mechanism on the vest to the saddle. In a fall, the rider separating from the saddle pulls the lanyard, which activates the CO2 cartridge. It arrives installed and ready to use on every Helite airbag.
Use:
Attach the carabiner to the saddle strap to install. Check the length each time the saddle changes: mounted, standing in the stirrups, the elastic section should be barely stretched.
Why it is here:
The lanyard is the trigger. An airbag without one does not deploy, which is the reason to keep a spare.
