A vegetable tanned leather jumping girth cut deeper around the elbow, with strap lengths that are deliberately unequal front to back. Padding is chosen at the selector, leather or sheepskin, and sizes are labeled in centimeters and inches.

The unequal strap lengths are the defining specification. They set the front buckle lower than the hind buckle, and ExionPro's stated reason is bulk: with the front buckle dropped, less hardware stacks up under the rider's calf, which is what makes the girth suit a close contact saddle and any saddle with offset billets. The second shaping decision is at the elbow. The girth is cut away deeper there so the foreleg has room to swing, which ExionPro calls shoulder relief, and the same shaping is what spreads pressure across the chest rather than concentrating it at the elbow.

Specifications:

  • Girth type: jumping overlay girth, anatomic shape
  • Unequal strap lengths, front buckle lower than the hind buckle
  • Deeper cut around the elbow
  • Suited to regular and close contact saddles, including saddles with offset billets
  • Leather: vegetable tanned
  • Triple layer matching elastic at both ends
  • Hardware: stainless steel roller buckles
  • Three D-rings, one at the center and one at each end
  • Padding, chosen at the selector: leather padding or sheepskin padding
  • Fancy stitching in heavy duty cotton thread
  • Leather colors: Havana (Choco Brown), Black, Oak Brown (Reddish Brown)
  • Sizes: seven lengths, 110 cm / 44 inches through 140 cm / 56 inches, in steps of 5 cm or 2 inches
  • Every leather color is offered in both paddings across the full size run

What sets this one apart:

Strap lengths that are deliberately unequal, setting the front buckle lower than the hind buckle so that less hardware stacks up under the rider's calf. That is a structural answer to bulk rather than a padding one, and it is why the girth is specified for close contact saddles and saddles with offset billets. The body is vegetable tanned leather cut away deeper around the elbow, with a fixed D-ring at the center and one at each end, and triple layer matching elastic at both ends.

Why it is here:

The unequal strap lengths. Dropping the front buckle is a structural answer to bulk under the rider's leg rather than a padding answer, and it is the reason this girth is specified for close contact saddles and offset billets.
