A running martingale finished in square raised leather with fancy stitching, which is the dress version of ExionPro's running pattern. A running martingale ends in two rings that the reins pass through, so it acts through the reins rather than fastening to the noseband. A martingale is a training aid, and its fit is what makes it safe or unsafe.

Square raised is the defining specification. On a raised strap the working face of the leather is built up so it stands proud of its backing instead of lying flat, and square raised means that built up section carries squared shoulders rather than a rounded crown. The fancy stitching runs along it. That is finish rather than function: the martingale works exactly as the flat pattern does, from the girth, between the front legs, to a yoke that splits into two straps ending in rings. The chest strap is punched with a run of adjustment holes, and that is where the length is set.

What sets this one apart:

The leather is square raised with fancy stitching, meaning the working face is built up so it stands proud of its backing, with squared shoulders rather than a rounded crown, and the stitching runs along it. That is finish rather than function, and the martingale works as any running pattern does, from the girth, between the front legs, to a yoke that splits into two straps ending in rings the reins pass through.

Rules on martingales differ by discipline and by venue, so check your own rulebook before you show.

Why it is here:

It is the raised and fancy stitched build of ExionPro's running martingale, which is the finish that matches a dressed bridle rather than a schooling one.
