An all-purpose saddle on an adjustable tree, running to a 19 inch seat.
The Explorer is built to be practical. It is built on the adjustable XCH tree, so the gullet plate changes with the horse, but the panels are foam rather than Bayflex and the leather is plain dark brown rather than a covered or printed finish. The flap is cut regular, which is the middle ground between a jumping and a dressage flap and the reason an all-purpose saddle works for flatwork and for a lesson over fences.
Specifications:
- Dark brown leather
- Adjustable XCH tree, medium
- Foam panels
- Velcro triangle knee block
- Velcro thigh block
- Regular flap
- Seat sizes 16.0 through 19.0
The adjustable tree:
This saddle is built on the XCH adjustable tree, which takes interchangeable gullet plates. A horse that changes shape across a season, or a rider working more than one horse, does not need a second saddle.
What sets this one apart:
This is the all-purpose saddle: foam panels, a regular flap cut between a jumping and a dressage flap, and seat sizes from 16.0 through 19.0. The tree is the adjustable XCH in medium, so the gullet plate changes with the horse. The leather is plain dark brown, with a Velcro triangle knee block and a Velcro thigh block.
Why it is here:
A 19 inch seat on an adjustable tree. The riders least well served by the saddle market are the tall ones and the ones who cannot buy a saddle per horse, and this addresses both at once.
