A half chap offered in two heights, in ultra-soft leather.

Short is two inches shorter than Regular on the same size chart, which is the detail that matters: a half chap that is too tall bunches behind the knee and rubs. Hayden answers a short leg by cutting the height rather than by sizing down, which would lose the calf. The top is a unified quilted panel, the leather ultra soft, and the stretch calf panel is generous enough to cover a wide range within each size. Zips from top to bottom.

The closures are worth knowing before you order. A snap strap crosses the top of the zip and holds it closed under the knee. A second snap strap sits at the ankle. An elastic strap passes under the instep and keeps the chap seated on the boot. The quilted top panel reads smooth. The body panel below the curved seam carries a pronounced natural grain.

Fit:

Measure calf circumference at its widest and height from the floor to the bend of the knee. Take the height measurement seriously here, because it is the one this chap lets you act on. A generous stretch panel covers a range within each size, so the calf measurement is the more forgiving of the two.
