The KK Ultra mouthpiece on fixed D-ring cheeks, for horses that need steering support.
Herm Sprenger uses the same 45 degree angled center link here as in the loose ring KK Ultra, so the mouthpiece sits on the tongue the same way and the rein aid stays soft and precise. What changes is the cheek. Fixed D-rings add lateral guidance and hold the bit steady in the mouth rather than letting it slide, which suits a horse that drifts or leans on one rein. The Sensogan encourages salivation and acceptance.
Specifications:
- KK Ultra double-jointed mouthpiece with 45° angled center link
- Sensogan
- Fixed D-ring cheeks
- 5 inch
D-ring or loose ring:
The mouthpiece is the same. A loose ring moves with the horse and invites a softer, more mobile contact. A fixed D-ring holds still and pushes against the outside of the face, which is what gives the lateral guidance. Choose the cheek for the steering problem, not for the mouth.
Why it is here:
Separating the mouthpiece question from the cheek question is the whole argument for a range like this. A rider who has found the mouthpiece that suits the horse should not have to change it to solve a steering issue.
