The high-rise knee-patch breech Harcour built its reputation on, with a sixteen-layer silicone grip.

The Jalisca is one of the maker's long-standing patterns and the design the newer Jaltika was developed from. The grip is sixteen layers of silicone applied at ninety-second intervals during production, built up gradually so it bonds rather than sits on the surface, and at sixteen layers it is the stronger of the two knee grips Harcour offers. The fabric is Rider Stretch, treated to repel dirt and water. The waist is cut high, which supports the back and holds the seat in place rather than sliding below it.

How much grip:

The two high-rise patterns differ on exactly this. The Jalisca carries sixteen layers of silicone and is the stronger grip. The Jaltika, developed from it, carries eight and is deliberately lighter, for a rider who wants contact without being held in place. Both figures are the maker's own. The Newport is mid-rise, also sixteen layers, in a clear grip cut plain for the hunter and equitation rings. The Vogue is the full seat.

Why it is here:

Bordeaux and Light Grey, and the stronger of the two grips. They are colors the Jaltika does not offer, and a breech is the garment a rider buys in quantity rather than once.
