A jumping saddle in oakbark covered leather, drafted for the long, lean, leggy rider.
Ovation states the design intent plainly: this one is cut for a rider with length in the leg. The construction is Bayflex panels on an adjustable medium tree with movable Velcro knee and thigh blocks, and the leather is covered rather than printed, which is the grippier finish.
Specifications:
- Oakbark covered leather
- Adjustable XCH tree, medium
- Bayflex panels
- Velcro triangle knee block
- Velcro thigh block
- Medium flap
- Seat sizes 16.5 through 18.0
What sets this one apart:
The flap is a medium cut, but the body of the saddle is drafted around a rider with length in the leg, which is a different approach from adding flap length to a standard body. Oakbark covered leather, the grippier of the two finishes, over Bayflex panels on an adjustable medium tree with movable knee and thigh blocks. Measure against the flap being ridden in now rather than choosing from the seat size, because the seat number describes the seat and not the leg.
The adjustable tree:
This saddle is built on the XCH adjustable tree, which takes interchangeable gullet plates. A horse that changes shape across a season, or a rider working more than one horse, does not need a second saddle.
Why it is here:
A saddle drafted around a body type rather than adjusted to fit one. It is a rarer decision than a longer flap and it produces a different saddle, not a modified one.
