A belly guard girth built to keep studs off the horse's belly over fences.
Grewal Equestrian makes this girth in soft, supple leather with a contoured shape that spreads pressure along the breastbone rather than concentrating it at a point. Roller buckles make adjustment quick. The wide protective panel is the whole purpose: over a fence a horse in studs can strike its own belly, and this panel takes that contact instead.
Specifications:
- Soft, supple leather
- Contoured shape to distribute pressure along the breastbone
- Roller buckles for adjustment
- Australian Nut: 45 inch
- Havana: 49 inch
Choosing:
Length is tied to color on this girth. Australian Nut is the 45 inch and Havana is the 49 inch. Select by the length your horse takes, not by the color.
Why it is here:
A stud guard is protective equipment for the horse, and its failure mode is a girth that presses rather than distributes. The contoured panel and the roller buckles are the reasons this one is in the collection.
