A breathable mesh fly sheet, sized from 60 inches.

Breathable 300D CoolWick Softmesh, which Ovation states offers over 70% UV protection. That figure is the reason to put a fly sheet on a horse that is not especially bothered by flies: sun bleaches a coat and burns pink skin, and a mesh sheet handles both. It closes with a covered double t-lock front, and carries dees for an optional neck cover, belly surcingles and removable leg straps.

Specifications:

  • Fabric: 300D CoolWick Softmesh, breathable
  • UV protection: over 70%
  • Front closure: covered double t-lock
  • Dees for an optional neck cover
  • Belly surcingles
  • Removable leg straps
  • Color: Lt Blue/Navy
  • Sizes 60 in through 84 in, in 3 in steps
  • Care: machine wash in a bag; line dry or machine dry on low heat

Fit:

Measure from the center of the chest, along the side, to the point of the buttock. Sizes run 60 in to 84 in in three-inch steps. The run starts at 60 in, so a pony or a small horse is covered.

What sets this one apart:

The sheet on its own, with dees at the neck so a cover can be added later, belly surcingles and removable leg straps. It runs on breathable 300D CoolWick Softmesh that Ovation states offers over 70% UV protection, closed by a covered double t-lock front. The size run starts at 60 in, which reaches ponies and small horses as well as full-size ones.

Why it is here:

A published UV figure. Ovation states over 70%, which is a number a buyer can compare. The dees matter too: a sheet bought without a neck cover can take one later rather than being replaced.
