An ultralight water-resistant windbreaker in performance taffeta, with a high neck and an adjustable drawcord waist. Made in Los Angeles.

One hundred percent polyamide in an ultra lightweight performance taffeta, which is the fabric class that packs down small and still stops wind. Water resistant rather than waterproof, so it handles a shower and a wet warm-up rather than a day of rain. The neck is high, which is where a windbreaker either works or does not, and a drawcord at the waist cinches the hem so the jacket does not balloon at speed. Front pockets close with invisible zips, so nothing interrupts the line of the front.

Fit:

Sizes XXS to XL. The waist drawcord means the fit through the body is adjustable rather than fixed, which is what makes one size work over a base layer and over a schooling shirt.

Water resistant is not waterproof.

Stated plainly because the distinction decides whether this is the right jacket. Water resistant handles spray, a shower and a damp warm-up. It is not rated for sustained rain and CALLIDAE does not claim a waterproof rating for it, so a rider who needs a true rain garment should look for a stated waterproof rating instead.

Beyond the barn:

A high neck, a cinched hem and an ultralight shell are not equestrian-specific properties. This is the layer that goes in a bag and comes out on a course, a court or a trail.
