The Grip model adds an inner leg in breathable synthetic suede with a silicone horseshoe grip pattern. Fit, and a gap in the size run:

Take three measurements before ordering: foot size, height from the floor to the bend of the knee, and calf circumference at its widest. One height and three calf widths. There is no size 9 in brown. This color is made in 6, 7, 8, 10 and 11 only, so a rider who takes a 9 cannot be fitted in it.

What the grip panel does:

A silicone pattern on the inner calf holds against the saddle flap, which is the principle of a full seat breech applied to the boot instead. It is the reason to choose the Grip over a plain tall boot, and it is also why the care instruction says brush the grip rather than wipe it. Silicone holds dirt in the pattern and loses purchase once it is loaded up.

Brown reads as a field boot and works for schooling, hacking and hunting. A show ring expects black, so this is a boot for work at home and in the hunt field rather than for the ring.
