The Quantum is built on Vega premium synthetic leather rather than hide, with a perforated calfskin lining at the ankle and tongue and Cambrelle wicking material to move moisture away from the foot. Ovation specifies its ComforLast insole and DuraLast outsole. Synthetic uppers need no conditioning and do not water-stain, which is the practical reason a first pair of paddock boots is so often synthetic.

Whole and half sizes to 9.5, then 10 and 11. There is no half size above 9.5 and no width option. A front zip means the boot goes on without lacing, which matters to a rider in a hurry and to anyone who cannot easily reach their feet.

This boot is brown. Brown pairs with brown tack and reads less formal than a black boot, which is the safer color if the boot will ever be worn with half chaps in a schooling show.
